Tracking Arkansas 2026 Ballot Issues
Arkansas citizens have until July 2026 to collect voter signatures for ballot issues they want to appear on the November 2026 ballot. We track those statewide ballot issue efforts here, including what's been approved and what's been rejected.
Signature Requirements for Arkansas Ballot Issues
Proposals approved for signature gathering require a certain percentage of signatures from at least 50 counties. Ballot issue groups must submit their voter petitions to the Secretary of State in July 2026.
- Proposed constitutional amendments require valid signatures from at least 90,704 Arkansas voters.
- Proposed state laws require valid signatures from at least 72,563 Arkansas voters.

Legislative Ballot Issues
Arkansas legislators can refer up to three proposed constitutional amendments to voters to decide. Their ballot title and popular name is not required to go through any prior review.
Read more about what the legislature is discussing for the 2026 ballot.
Attorney General Opinions
The Arkansas Attorney General's Office is responsible for reviewing ballot titles and popular names proposed by citizen groups. The language must be free of misleading or partisan language. Learn more about the office's process at https://arkansasag.gov/news-release/the-brief-explaining-the-ballot-title-review-process/.
Only after the Attorney General certifies a ballot title and popular name through an Attorney General Opinion can a ballot issue group start collecting voter signatures.
