LITTLE ROCK  -- As the deadline for growers to make important decisions regarding the 2014 Farm Bill approaches, the Cooperative Extension Service and the Farm Service Agency have further expanded the number of available workshops and webinars. Several critical and irrevocable decisions must be made by Feb. 27 and March 31.

The series of webinars and in-person workshops began last year and are slated to continue through March. There is no cost to attend either the in-person workshops or the webinars.

The new schedule also features three events featuring one of the key co-developers of the web-based decision aid to help farmers make solid decisions.

The webinars will help participants learn about Farm Service Agency Farm Bill programs and decisions specific to row crop production in Arkansas, including:

    • Base Acre Reallocation
    • Yield updates
    • Agricultural Risk Coverage
    • Price Loss Coverage
    • Supplemental Coverage Option
    • Web-based decision aids
    • other related programs

The deadline for the base acreage and yield decision is Feb. 27. The deadline for decisions about agricultural risk coverage and price loss coverage is March 31.
