2017 Q1 Big Creek report posted online

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The 2017 first quarter report from the Big Creek Research and Extension Team has been posted and submitted to the governor’s office and the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.  

The team has been monitoring conditions in Big Creek, a Buffalo National River tributary in Newton County. The report, which covers January-March, details conditions at the creek in the area near C&H Hog Farms. The report may be found here: http://bit.ly/2pxhHJl.

The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture team has been collecting data at the creek since September 2013. 

The team is analyzing water samples for the potential presence of E. coli, nitrates, phosphorous and suspended solids.
