BATESVILLE — A stored forage workshop May 8 will highlight the latest University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture research for hay production, storage and nutrition.

Water Quality Meeting
MAKING HAY — A stored forage workshop will be held May 8 at the Livestock and Forestry Research Station near Batesville.

Weather permitting, the workshop will be held outdoors at the division’s Livestock and Forestry Research Station near Batesville. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the program will run from 9 a.m. to around 2:30 p.m.

The program is sponsored by Greenway Equipment Inc. and will include lunch. Please RSVP by Friday, May 4, by calling 870-793-7432 or by email at jlbransc@uark.edu.

Topics will cover nutrition and performance with mechanically stored forage, hay equipment discussion and demonstration, and the cost to produce stored forage.

The Livestock and Forestry Research Station is a 3,000-acre research unit developed to conduct research with forestry and beef cattle management and production. Large-scale replicated forage research is conducted on 1,250 acres of pasture and hay fields.

The station is located off Hwy. 106 at 70 Experiment Station Drive.
