LITTLE ROCK – The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is hosting an April 29 webinar that will parse the legalities of industrial hemp production in Arkansas.

There is no cost to participate in the webinar, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Participants must download the device-appropriate app from Zoom.us to access the webinar. There will be time for audience questions.

Harrison Pittman, director of the National Agricultural Law Center, “will talk about the legalities of growing industrial hemp,” said Vic Ford, interim associate director-extension for the Division of Agriculture. 

The webinar will cover:

  • What is industrial hemp?
  • State and federal laws on growing, processing and transporting industrial hemp.
  • Steps needed to begin an industrial hemp enterprise.
