LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Extension Homemakers will be hosting the national conference of the National Volunteer Outreach Network in Springdale on July 23-25.

The National Volunteer Outreach Network, or NVON, is comprised of member organizations working together to promote communication, education, and volunteerism for all. AEHC is one of its members and the decision to host the national conference is a natural fit. The organization’s more than 3,700 members have provided more than 700,000 volunteer hours in Arkansas during the current fiscal year.

“AEHC members are putting together the program agenda, recruiting speakers, planning tours and other support activities,” said Laura Hendrix, associate professor for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and extension liaison to AEHC. “They are organizing and will conduct the conference with support of county family and consumer science agents and state extension faculty and staff.”

The conference is being held at the Springdale Holiday Inn. About 200 people are expected to attend. Conference information is available here: http://www.nvon.org/nvon-conference/.

The Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council is a volunteer organization associated with the Cooperative Extension Service, part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
