Aug. 10 Pine Tree Field Day to feature rice, soybean updates

LITTLE ROCK — From seed treatment selection to harvest, experts with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture will cover topics in every step of soybean and rice production at the Pine Tree Field Day.
The event, hosted by the Division of Agriculture, will be held at the Pine Tree Research Station, located at 7337 Highway 306 West in Colt. The research station is part of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station, the research arm of the Division of Agriculture.
“This year’s field day will feature six tour stops covering pest management methods, soil fertility information, breeding updates and more,” said Shawn Clark, director of the Pine Tree Research Station.
Attendance is free and lunch is provided. Attendees can register at the event beginning at 7:30 a.m. The full agenda is as follows:
Stop 1: 8:20 a.m.
- Biological Seed Treatments, Nitrogen and Sulfur in Soybeans, Soybean Update

- New Scouting Methods for Rice Water Weevil
