FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Ann Catherine Jouett says one of the rewards of working in development is the creation of “opportunities to propel ideas and innovations through developing authentic relationships that create success and advance people.”
Jouett joined the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture in August as development manager based in Fayetteville.
She came to the Division of Agriculture with a decade of experience working in the University of Arkansas’ advancement office as chief of staff and in campaign management for the university’s capital campaign, Campaign Arkansas.
“Ann Catherine brings a wealth of valuable experience in the development area with a proven record of supporting important missions in higher education and research through private giving,” said Jeff Weaver, who leads the development mission for the Division of Agriculture. “I’m excited to see how we are able to support the land-grant research and extension missions of Arkansas’s largest industry by engaging our stakeholders and companies whose work we support.”
To help others do good
“Philanthropy is personal, genuine, and creates opportunities to propel ideas and innovation,” Jouett said.
“Development professionals have the privilege of seeing people and families do what they consider to be one of the most significant achievements of their lifetime,” she said. “Private gift support is vital for organizations to thrive, and development professionals are positioned to catalyze the generosity of benefactors to make the world a better place.”
Jouett said having been surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues who value generosity and service instilled the passion to “help others do good in this world.”
“Throughout my career as a public servant and as a parent, I have found happiness in seeing the impact philanthropy creates for people and the community,” she said.
“I am thankful to be a part of the Division of Agriculture,” she said. “The leadership and team are doing amazing things in the agricultural industry. It is my privilege to bring my expertise and experience to collaborate with exceptional colleagues, continuing the philanthropic work of others before me.”
When she’s not at work, Jouett likes to create art, travel and enjoy time with her family.
Jouett said, “My favorite place is spending time with my family and pets, mostly summers at Pawleys Island, South Carolina, a place my extended family has visited for generations.”
