Tips for Trees and Shrubs in Bone-Dry Weather
October 12, 2022
Hey, guys.
We have not had a good rain in the past 4 weeks!
Make sure that you are providing supplemental watering to all your trees and shrubs,
especially younger ones since they are more susceptible to drought.
This is a critical time. Plants are starting to shut down for dormancy but remember, roots are still growing and absorbing moisture.
It is very important to water deeply and provide a good soaking. We want to encourage the roots to remain below the surface and prevent shallow roots from surfacing to the top.
If the plants are not getting one inch of water per week, either by irrigation or Mother Nature, you will need to supplement. Mulching around trees and shrubs is a great way to help conserve moisture and is beneficial for the plant.
