Red Leaf Forestry, Inc. Rakes in Opportunity

Red Leaf Forestry, Inc. is in Hot Springs and has been in business since 2005. The business offers pruning, planting, tree cutting, reforestation, chemical spraying, and drone spraying services. Red Leaf Forestry is a recent graduate of the 8(a) Business Development Program. The 8(a) program is a robust nine-year program created to help firms owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

Red Leaf Forestry company ownership and self-certifications include Hispanic-Owned, Other Minority Owned, and Self-Certified Small Disadvantaged Business.

Owner Carlos Oseguera reached out to Procurement Counselor Kenneth Griffin, Jr. due to a lapse in the business’s SAM Registration.

“Kenneth was incredibly helpful. While our business has been through the renewal process multiple times, an extra set of eyes and perspective always provides a benefit,” said Oseguera.

In this case, Oseguera requested immediate assistance due to an opportunity to exercise two additional option years in an existing contract, that required immediate action. Griffin assisted Oseguera with renewing the vendor registration, interpreting subsequent electronic communications, and providing updates when necessary.

The two additional option years were approved just two days after their registration was renewed, up to an amount of $7.5 million. The contracting agency was the United States Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service.

Oseguera commented, “I am grateful for the team’s flexibility over the years and for the many opportunities they have shared and made available.”
