County Industry Overview
About the Data
The County Industry Overview provides a snapshot of industry activity across Arkansas’s
75 counties using IMPLAN, a widely used economic analysis system.
The data include county-level measures of output, employment, income, industry structure, and occupational characteristics. Data are updated annually as new IMPLAN data become available.

Data Sources
Data are provided by IMPLAN and are based on information from:
- Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)
- Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)
- U.S. Census Bureau
- U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
- Other federal and state agencies
Because source data require processing and validation, published estimates typically lag about two years behind the current year.
In addition, IMPLAN periodically updates its industry classification system. When federal statistical systems (such as BEA) revise industry definitions, IMPLAN incorporates these changes. As a result, the dataset is fully refreshed approximately every five years to reflect updated industry structures.
