Food Safety at Home
What could be more personal than the food you prepare to eat on a daily basis? The concern of food safety is as close as your next meal. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each year, an estimated 48 million Americans get sick from eating contaminated or improperly prepared foods and many of these cases are from improperly home prepared and stored foods. The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service has county educators trained in Family and Consumer Sciences that can provide consumers with information to increase ones understanding about food safety. Contact your local county extension office or link to the resources below for more information.
