Logic Models

What is a logic model?

A logic model is a graphic representation of your program. It documents your program plan and expected outcomes. Funding sources often require logic models to document your theory of change.

A logic model program matrix identifies:

  • expected inputs
  • outputs (methods & audiences)
  • desired outcomes

They are widely used by government, foundations, and major educational institutions to support the planning and development of program evaluation.
