ILEAD Cohort III: March Virtual Seminar

Patricia Johnson, Human Resources specialist and member of iLEAD III, shares content regarding the iLEAD virtual seminar held Friday, March 15, 2024.

Our fifth iLEAD virtual session was hosted by Steve Siegelin, an associate professor of professional development at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture (UADA). This session was highly informative with enlightening information from both our guest speakers.

Our first guest was Chris Lee, chief information officer, who recently started his position with UADA in October. He has been working on new IT projects, updates, and spends a lot of time developing a strategic plan to unify the Cooperative Extension Service (CES) and Agricultural Experiment Station (AES)  service desk. He is super excited about all things IT and has set goals for a future of important things to come.

The second guest was Jeffery Weaver, director of government affairs and stakeholder engagement. One of his duties is to ensure funding for UADA by attending Arkansas General Assembly sessions as well as leading fundraising efforts. Weaver also encouraged us to make personal connections to inform people about UADA and all the programs we offer to strengthen our communities. He was very personable, and I am sure he will do an excellent job.

iLEAD has opened my eyes to all things concerning UADA. It is great to have these speakers present so we can see the many dimensions of what UADA offers. I will encourage all employees to apply for the iLead program.
