Alexander, Who Used to be Rich Last Sunday - Kids & Money

by Katie Cullum

You can find this book at the Searcy Library, Goff Library in Beebe, the Rose Bud Library or online at the Arkansas Digital Library Consortium. It's available for purchase online also, or between April and May 3 you can read it at Spring Park in Searcy or Lyda Miller Park in Bald Knob.  This book is written for children ages 4 and up.

The goal of the books in this series (which includes the Trouble with Money, Just Shopping with Mom, Sheep in a Shop, and the Ox-Cart Man, along with a little more about the series in Teaching Money Lessons with Books ) is to help parents talk to their children about money.  This story focuses on three financial concepts - decision making, prioritizing and saving.

Synopsis: Last Sunday, Alexander's grandparents gave him a dollar - and he was rich! But somehow the money began to disappear...

Download this Parent Guide to get discussion questions, activities to reinforce, and more information on the financial concepts.
